The Jazz Ensemble meets after school from 2:45 to 4:15pm. We will have Jazz Band only on Mondays from January 22rd until the musical is over (March 16th). After the musical, we will add the Tuesday/Thursday rehearsals back in. There may also be extra rehearsals prior to concerts. Any exceptions to the normal schedule will be announced in class.

    These sectionals are in preparation for our 2018 EHS Marching Band season.

  • 4 - 8 Mon - Fri CYSO Summer Music Camp
    Who: All Interested Students
    What: A one-week day camp for strings and winds
    Where: Arts Bldg, Metro State University, Denver, CO       Map
    When: 8:00am - Noon, June 4-8, 2018

  • Ensembles include string groups, woodwind quintets, flute choir, clarinet choir, and brass group
  • Open to musicians ages 7 - 21, no previous chamber music experience required
  • Beginners to advanced musicians, all playing levels welcome
  • Professional coaching by Colorado Symphony Orchestra members and music faculty from Colorado universities
  • Performance in a free final recital. Open to the public
  • Cost: $385

  • 9 Sat Panoramic Flutist: High School Day
    Who: All Flutists
    What: A day of workshops and seminars devoted to the flute!
    Where: Imig Music Bldg, Univ of Colorado Campus, Boulder, CO       Map
    When: 8:00am - 4:00pm

    This one-day event is open to all middle and high school students for an inspiring day of flute! Workshops will include: Fun flute warm-up class, All-State and audition prep class, beatboxing class, classes on intonation and articulation, social media and your flute and a flute choir reading session. Cost is $80 for the day includes a healthy lunch! Space is unlimited for middle and high school flutist of every level; there are 15 slots open for master class participation, which includes performance of one solo of the flutist’s choice.

    11 - 15 Mon - Fri Summer Flute Institute @ MSU Denver

    Who: Flute Players
    Where: King Center, Auraria Campus, Denver, CO       Map

    The Summer Flute Institute @ MSU Denver is a five-day flute event featuring repertoire classes, techniques clinics, daily warm-ups, and flute ensemble. Flutists will participate as performers, chamber musicians, and by contributing audience feedback. Students will join in-depth exploration of tone, technique, expression and other important musical elements. Daily recitals will feature teaching artists and members of the class.

    Attendees may enroll as either performers or participants. All attendees will receive daily individual and group coaching with faculty members. Performer level participants will play in repertoire classes for Ms. Felber and Dr. Surman. Up to 15 performers are chosen by recorded audition. There is no limit to the number of participants. Every age adult and performance level is encouraged to apply (student, amateur, semi-professional, professional).
